Gregitek

The Giust Elettrotecnica Company, founded in 1970, has always worked
in a number of electro-mechanical and electro-technical/electronic
fields applied to industry focussing mainly on the maintenance of
water systems, water conditioning, industrial plant and the working
of electronically controlled electrical machinery.
Their technical expertise is geared to applying the most advanced
technologies and to the selection of highly technical products for
the optimization of the control and command of all
electro-industrial machinery.
Gregitek, a firm producing hi-fi accessories as a sister company to
Giust Elettrotecnica is owned and operated by Gregorio Giust. He has
forty years working in the electro-technical/electronic sector, and
the considerable experience acquired in perceiving and subsequently
eliminating vibrations in the mechanical components of industrial
machines (vibrations = wear and poor functioning as well as
breakdown of mechanical components)

Aerius
Feet
Built in high density centrifuged aluminium, and made with
numerically controlled machines, Aerius feet are the result of
a series of trials and measurements which have determined
their aesthetic shape in relation to the sound produced, thus
making them nice to look at and nice to ‘listen to’.
The special shape has been studied with a view to providing
stability and thus avoiding sliding in the case of accidental
bumping (which happens with other similar systems) and the
causing of serious damage to the equipment.
The construction materials have been chosen on the basis of
trials leading to the choice of aluminium for the contact
discs, to ceramics, to steel, to Delrin, and alternatively to
steel with planetary damper for the disconnecting ball and the
O-Rings on the surface of the equipment/platform.
Several variations can be tried out by the audiophile,
changing the disconnecting ball (ceramic, Delrin, steel or
other material), attaching O-rings or not, perhaps putting
just one either facing the equipment or facing the equipment
rack, and finally turning the foot itself over.

Stab1
Platform
A special damping platform against Sysmic Feedback, mod.
Stab 1, 450x350x225 mm., the ideal partner for the Aerius
feet. It consists of boards of hard ash wood, selected through
tuning and matched coherently to the tonality of the sound
they emit.
At the centre of the Stab1 platform, in the lower part, a
stainless steel disc, calibrated in shape and weight, is
anchored by an elastic support, and works as an energy
dissipator. This functions as a damper in opposite phase, in
that the vibration absorbed by the platform is transmitted
late with respect to the primary vibration (that of the
platform) eliminating it and converting it into work (disc
movement). The effectiveness has been tested and measured to
work optimally with equipment weighing between 3 and 20 kg.
Even in this case, the audiophile can, as explained before,
try out several settings of the feet and the energy
dissipating disc, which can be further tuned by applying
damping material (O-Rings) in the apposite settings on its
circumference.
The kit consists of:
1 set 3 feet in centrifugal and anodised aluminium – colours
available GOLD – SILVER
1 set of 3 steel balls with planetary damper
1 set of 3 steel balls
1 set 6 O-Rings + 1 for the dissipator disc
1 energy dissipator disc in stainless steel
1 platform in glossy painted boards of hard ash wood
1 pair of white cotton gloves
Instructions
The inserting of 2 types of ball and the o-rings in the kit
was due to the fact that the sound can be varied depending on
the type of ball adopted, from the insertion or otherwise of
the o-rings, and also considering that the mechanical
structure of the equipment in which they are fitted influences
the sound (not all equipment has the same rigidity), thus the
audiophile will have to experiment case by case, appliance by
appliance, whether they are CDP – Pre – Ampli – Dampers or
whatever, until he finds the best sound.
Remember that with it being a gravitation damper system, more
weight = more effectiveness and better sound.
Sound results
Steel balls = brilliant crystalline sound in the high range,
softer, more contained voices, controlled dry basses.
Steel balls with planetary damper = silky sound in high range,
close warm voices, close articulated basses, increase in
dynamics and the tridimensional scene.
O.Rings = generally warmer sound, particularly suitable for
low weight (3 – 6 kg.) multiform CDP readers.
From our point of view, the result obtained with the Feet +
Platform set is really excellent, with a detailed ariose sound
of great impact and sophistication.
The Aerius feet have been tried out below mini dampers
(inserting them between their base and the diffuser support),
obtaining a notable increase in the general musical airiness,
a more precise collocation of the musical instruments within
the virtual sound box, an increase in the general dynamics,
and finally a considerable sense of reality in the
reproduction, even with Entry level diffusers.
NB: The trials, both constructive and sound, were carried out
with the help of precision electronic instruments, SKF
vibration monitor and a reflected ray Laser generator as well
as numerous listening trials with numerous items of Hi End
equipment.
